I’ve always been a total sucker for a good self-help book and my bookcase and Kindle are filled with them. So I was excited to hear of the recent book launch of Designing Your Life: How To Build A Well-Lived, Joyful Life by Bill Burnett and Dave Evans. It’s the best self-help book I have read in over a decade.
Written by two professors who teach the popular Designing Your Life class at Stanford, the book is based upon the concepts taught in their class. A client of mine had raved about the insights that came from this class even though years had passed since he was a student. So naturally I was intrigued when I heard that the authors wanted to put the classroom experience into a book.
An actual page turner and easy read it is full of relatable stories of people who felt stuck and were challenged to create a life that felt right for them. More importantly, the book outlines a methodology that includes a series of practical exercises that are challenging and fun so you can do the same.
